How We Write

Who writes, where the information comes from, where doctor review stands, and how to report a mistake, stated plainly.

Written by the Oliareen editorial team · Last updated: 6 November 2026

Who writes

Every page is written by the Oliareen editorial team. Drafts are prepared with help from AI writing tools; each health claim is then checked against the sources listed at the bottom of the page. We never show invented author identities or credentials.

Where the information comes from

  • Clinical guidelines and professional bodies: the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the UK's NICE and NHS, the World Health Organization (WHO).
  • Peer-reviewed studies and reviews, including work on South Asian skin and climate where it exists.
  • Bangladesh-specific findings, such as mercury tests of fairness creams (ESDO).
  • We summarise in our own words and do not copy source text.

When evidence is weak, we say so

Many skincare rules (step order, toner, waiting between layers) have not been tested in large studies. There we write "this is a practical rule", not "studies show". We never claim an ingredient guarantees a result or makes a condition go away.

Doctor review: where it stands

So far, no dermatologist has reviewed this content. That is why every health page says "Written by the Oliareen editorial team · Dermatologist review: pending" with the last-updated date. Only when a registered dermatologist reviews a page will their real name, qualifications and review date appear on it. We never show invented doctors, badges or testimonials.

What we do not do

  • We do not diagnose or prescribe. The Skin Advisor's photo reading is a pattern reading, not a diagnosis.
  • In this phase we do not sell products here, show prices or link to products.
  • We do not take payment to favour an ingredient or brand.
  • We do not build symptom galleries from people's face photos.

If you find a mistake

If something looks wrong, out of date or unclear, tell us through the contact page with the page link. We fix substantive errors and change the page's updated date, only for meaningful changes, not typo fixes. This is not an urgent-care service; in an emergency see when to seek care.

Who runs Oliareen

Oliareen is run by Costareen, a skincare business in Bangladesh. Shopping may come to this site in future; if it does, education and product information will be kept separate and that will be stated clearly. See about us for more.
